Globestrong is a Minas International program aimed at teenage students with the objective to open minds about the value of volunteering, improve confidence using English and promote intercultural dialogue. Our activities involve sharing global volunteer stories and experiences, brainstorming ideas and developing possible volunteer projects for the local community.
To achieve our objectives we have in classroom sessions, in both private and public schools, where our volunteers have the opportunity to engage with the students, brainstorm ideas such as the importance of learning English, the meaning of volunteering, the benefits this kind of activity brings to the community and the person himself. We also share worldwide volunteer stories and discuss how it could be replicated in our city!
Trough this activities we help the students to understand better the importance of volunteering, preparing them for developing their own projects with the assistance of our Volunteer Project development Tool Kit.
We are glad to have some key partners such as the United States Government, the Mayor’s Office and Globelink Partners!
